本日は、本用法の give がその他の副詞と連結するパターンを扱います。

(1) give in:

・Give in your examination papers. (答案用紙を提出してください。)

・The teachers gave in their reports. (その教師たちは自分たちのレポートを提出した。) Mt. Pleasant Pioneer Relief Society Beginnings

【研究】「(書類など) を提出する」を意味しています。

(2) give over:

【研究】1. give over O1 to O2、あるいは give O1 over to O2 の構文をとり、「O1 に O2 を (引き) 渡す」を意味します。2. give oneself over to...で「～に身を委ねる」という意味になります。

(3) give up:
