本日は「使役」を表す have で、have + O + done の形を取るものを扱います。これには「使役」以外に「依頼」の意味も含まれます (いずれも通常、強勢は have に置かれます)。また make や get も同様の構文を取れますが、get はやや口語的なニュアンスを伴います。それでは具体的に見ていきましょう。

(1) 使役:
・It is productive to have the experiment done by small groups of students with an instructor.
(生徒を小さなグループに分け、各グループに 1 人指導員を付けて、当実験を行わせるのは有意義なことです。)

【研究】実際には、明らかに「使役」という例文はあまり多くありません。

(2) 依頼:
・I have never had to have my machine repaired in any way, it's been running perfectly smoothly for 2 years.
(私のマシンは、これまでほんの少しでも修理を頼まなくてはならないようなことはなく、この 2 年間完璧に稼働している。)
