20100417 no more + a(n) + 名詞

本日は限定用法の形容詞を伴う名詞句を no more が修飾する場合の形態を説明します。これは今まで、no more A than B で慣れてきた表現なので、それほど違和感はないと思います。下記にいくつか例を挙げましょう。
この構文は、no more + a(n) + 形容詞 + 名詞の形を取ります。
・You can notice I'm no more a young man, but I join you in your thoughts. (分かると思うが私はもう若くない。けれど、君の考えには賛同するよ。)
・Today, mobile phones are no more a mere device for making calls and sending SMS to other contacts. (今日、携帯電話は、電話をかけたり、ショート メッセージ サービスを送信したりするだけの機器ではない。)
