本日は前回の用法の続きです。本日は like O to do と like O to be doing の違いを扱います。

・I like people to come to my home, but I don't like them to stay a long time. (私は人が家に来るのは好きですが、長くいてほしくはありません。) Are You an Introvert? A Test for Introverted Personality Traits

・I don't like them to be reading when guests are here. (私は彼が入ってきたとき、彼らに本を読んでいて欲しくないのです。)

【研究】to be doing が来ると「～している」というニュアンスが出ます。ただし実際の用例はあまり多くありません。
