本日も前回の用法の続きです。今回は、see to it that の構文を扱います。

・You also need to take care and see to it that all the garbage bins are closed properly. (また、ごみ箱のふたがすべてしっかり閉まっているかの確認も必要です。) Extermination of Rats | Pest Extermination

・As an engineer, I am expected to take every care, to see that the job is right, and the customer is satisfied. (エンジニアとして、私は、あらゆることに注意を払い、仕事が適切に行われ、顧客が満足しているか気を配るよう求められている。) harbornewindows&joinery;

【研究】①「～するよう取り計らう [配慮する]」あるいは「～するよう気を付ける」などを意味しています。② to it は省略可能です。③ 命令文や未来時制であっても that 節内は現在時制で表現します。④ look to it that も同様の構文を取れますが、to it の省略はできません。
