本日は、「～を作り上げる」「～を編集する」「～を完全なものにする」を意味する　make up を扱います。

4. 作り上げる:

・We still need $ 5 to make up the sum we asked for. (我々が要求した金額を作り上げるにはまだ 5 ドル必要だ。) (OALD)

5. 完全なものにする:

【研究】文脈により　edit (～を編集する) の意味にもなりますが、用例的にはあまり多くありません。基本動詞辞典には He made up his set of Dickens' work. が挙げられていますが、Google ではヒットしませんでした。

次回は、「(人 [もの]) が (集団など) を構成する」を意味する make up を扱います。
