本日は「(趣味・能力などを)養う」の用法を扱います。

・She took pains to educate my taste; opened to me hitherto unknown avenues of study; led me to explore “ fresh fields and pastures new."(彼女は苦労して私の鑑賞力を磨いてくれました。これまで未知の領域だった学問の道を開き、私を「新鮮な野原と新しい牧草地」へと導いてくれたのです。)

【研究】educate A's taste で「(主語が)A の鑑賞力[判断力・センス] を磨いてくれる」を意味します。
