本日は「(足し算などで)<数を>繰り上げる」の用法を扱います。

・Write the 8 in the ones' place and carry the 4 forward to the tens' place. (1 の位に 8 を書き、10 の位に 4 を繰り上げます。) Multiplying numbers by regrouping and carrying forward

【研究】1. carry A forward[over] to B で「A (数字)を B (位) に繰り上げる」の意味になります。2. 1 の位は the ones' place、10 の位は the tens' place、100 の位は the hundreds' place、1000 の位は the thousands' place となります。 3. 数字 1 や 8 の前に the が付く点にも注意しましょう。4. ちなみに 10 の位を掛けるは multiply the tens、100 の位を掛けるは multiply the hundreds、1000 の位を掛けるは multiply the thousands です。
