1. O1(対象者)は文脈上明らかな場合、省略可能

・Smoking does you more harm than good. の用例: 10,100 件

・Smoking does more harm than good. の用例: 7,560 件

【研究】用例数的にはそれほど開きがありません。

2. 対象者を強調する場合、to + [対象者] の形を取る

・An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 on the Richter scale occurred at about 5:55 a.m. on October 8th 1974, and did considerable damage to the St George's Parish Church. ((リヒター値) マグニチュード 6.5 の地震が、1974 年 10 月 8 日、午前 5:55 頃に起き、St George's Parish Church に甚大な被害をもたらした。) Historic Basseterre
