本日は「物を与える」「(窓などが) 面する」を意味する自動詞用法を扱います。

(1) (人が) 気前が良い, 物を与える:

・In today's material world, it's very rare to find someone that gives generously with an open heart.
(今日の物欲的な世界で、心を開いて気前よく物を与える人に出会うことは、非常にまれである。)

【研究】1. 通常、副詞または前置詞句を伴います。 2.give generously to...のように「～に対して」を加えることもあります。

(2) (窓などが) ～に面している:

・The window gives on the sea. This door gives onto the hallway.
(その窓は海に面している。このドアは廊下に通じている。)
